My next stop was Bockenheimer Warte. On my way there, I came across Frankfurt’s botanical garden: Palmengarten. From the entrance, it looked quite pleasant so I paid my €9. The cashier was knitting something and I asked her what it was. She showed me a pattern. It was a sort of toy for her friend’s young daughter. Progress was slow, she added, because it was quite complicated.
The garden itself was delightful. If I lived in Frankfurt, I’d become a member. It’s peaceful and beautiful. There are lots of places to sit. Even the palm house and other enclosures had benches, sometimes tucked away so that you could sit in peace.

When I sat on a reclining chair, a red squirrel appeared. I boy spotted it and chased the squirrel, who ran up a tree, where another squirrel was perched. The squirrels then proceeded to chase each other around the tree.

At one point, I found myself looking at fish. Another building had beautiful butterflies.

After having coffee and cake, I headed to Bockenheimer Warte, which taking another exit from the garden, was only 10 minutes away.
