Cytat Cafe and No Bones

After exiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine, I sat in a small peaceful park and had some food.

For the return bus ride from the salt mine, I got off early to walk around Kazimierz, the old Jewish Quarter. It now hosts a variety of independent shops and cafes.

I asked ChatGPT to recommend some quirky cafes. It recommended several. The closest to me was Cytat Cafe. It combined a bookshop and cafe although I couldn’t work out if the books were for sale or just ornamental!

I read my book (on Kindle) and caught up with messages.

After coffee, I went to a restaurant called No Bones, a vegan restaurant. The person who took my order was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Tofu Greencore: gratin, potatoes, tofu cream with wild garlic, grilled asparagus, broccoli, courgette, radish with a basil dressing. It wasn’t what I expected but tasted good.

For the meal, I’d ordered the home-made lemonade: lemon juice, sparkling water, ice, mint without the sugar syrup. When the bill came, the server said she’d deducted about 50% off the drink because “basically you had ordered lemon water” even though I’d ordered what was on the menu without the syrup!

I walked back via the Main Square. There was a band playing and people were dancing.
