Artistic Kaohsiung

From Chiayi, I took the train in the morning to Kaohsiung. I read some interesting things about it, especially its art in public places. You notice the attention to art the minute you arrive at the central station.

At the station, I especially like the section for children to read (books provided!).

The transport options at Kaohsiung, like much of Taiwan, are excellent. Apart from the usual train, bus and metro, there’s a light railway/tram system.

Kaohsiung is the largest port in Taiwan. Pier 2 Art Centre is next to the port and is full of outdoor art installations.

Walking around town, I saw lots of interesting buildings. I found some of the trees a work of art in themselves! One of them looks like it’s got lots of legs and could move to another location whenever it felt like it!
