The Thames at night is a beautiful sight! Yesterday, there was a lovely sunset you could see from the member’s room at the Tate Modern. Sunsets are one of nature’s gift that you can enjoy almost anywhere and each is unique. View photos The Thames at night

First night of the proms
First night of the proms: standing in the gallery with the gods and the BBC. Photographing the filmmakers: you can see presenter, Katie Derham, below and the women controlling the autocue. Even the “spontaneous” remarks are scripted. Is nothing sacred?! 😊 View photos First night of the proms
Hockney at the Tate
Really happy to have caught the Hockney exhibition on the last day 🙂
Daunt Books, Marylebone
One of the most alluring bookshops in London, with an extensive travel section.
He’s the man, the man with the Midas touch
This somewhat innocuous modernist building was designed by and the home of architect Erno Goldfinger. His name was used in the James Bond film. It’s worth a visit on a rainy day, especially one of the guided tours in which you learn about the functional design behind the aesthetics.
Royal Festival Hall to the Royal Opera House
A day of culture: Alchemy at the Southbank Centre has a South Asian theme, which is worth checking out. We saw a sitar tribute to Ravi Shankar led by his wife. This was followed by an evening at the Royal Opera House (my first visit!) watching ballet from the back. View photos Royal Festival Hall to the Royal Opera House
