This somewhat innocuous modernist building was designed by and the home of architect Erno Goldfinger. His name was used in the James Bond film. It’s worth a visit on a rainy day, especially one of the guided tours in which you learn about the functional design behind the aesthetics.
Royal Festival Hall to the Royal Opera House
A day of culture: Alchemy at the Southbank Centre has a South Asian theme, which is worth checking out. We saw a sitar tribute to Ravi Shankar led by his wife. I was fascinated and appalled to hear of the conditions of slate miners.
