There was a Henry Moore season on BBC TV a couple of weeks ago. I caught a bit of Henry Moore at Home. It’s fascinating to see artists at work. He was going through a “drawing phase” and showed the evolution of his drawings of sheep. At one point, a large truck came up his driveway. It was returning one of his sculptures. Periodically, they were sent around the world and returned.
For the past few months, Kew Gardens have 30 of these sculptures on display. It’s the largest outdoor display of his work ever. Many large trucks must have transported these sculptures!
It seemed appropriate that Moore, whose art was inspired by nature, should have a massive exhibition at Kew Gardens, the UK’s best known botanical gardens.

The sculptures area spread over all corners of the garden. They’re numbered. So you could see them sequentially, as some people were doing. We weren’t so systematic. Using a map, we wondered around and went to a sculpture if it was nearby.

Most sculptures are outdoors but some are indoors. We’ve been a couple of times to look at them.
